What is a flexitank (also known as a flexibag)? A flexitank is a soft, light, polyethylene bladder with a volume of 14,000 to 24,000 liters for the transportation of bulk non-hazardous liquid cargoes within a standard 20-foot ISO dry-box container. It is generally used once and discarded or recycled. This makes flexitanks a cost-effective transportation solution for non-hazardous liquids, including certain chemicals, latex, wines, food oils and juices.
For certain bulk-liquid shipments, it is often more economical to use disposable/recyclable flexitanks. STC operates its flexitanks with the same level of expertise that has made it the industry leader in tank containers. We can supply and fit flexitanks, and arrange door-to-door service to every global destination. STC can also manage the safe collection and recycling of used flexitanks that are specifically designed for one-time use only. STC offers flexitank service on a global basis, with a focus on markets where the flexitank is more competitive than a tank container. In certain cases, the two services can be substituted for each other. This is dependent on the availability of the various modes of transportation and product-handling requirements. STC offers a range of flexitanks from single-ply to multi-ply bladders of various capacities to meet the specific needs of its customers.
