Stolthaven Terminals
Stolthaven’s global network of terminals provides high quality storage and distribution services to customers worldwide. Our state-of-the-art terminals complement the capabilities of both Stolt Tankers and Stolt Tank Containers. These close relationships enable SNSA to provide its customers with integrated transportation solutions that reduce costs and increase operating efficiencies, all within an environment of assured quality, safety and environmental protection
With the cost of parcel tankers expected to rise in the foreseeable future, the focus is on berth efficiency. By implementing new methodologies aimed at optimizing the ship-to-shore interface, Stolthaven has achieved efficiency improvements that significantly reduce ship turnaround times.
As a strategic approach to regional markets, SNSA has historically deployed a model built on local storage and distribution capabilities that optimize the effectiveness of SNSA’s deep sea tanker fleet and offer customers optimal distribution solutions. In Europe, for example, the combination of SNSA’s regional short-sea fleet, intra-European self-propelled barge fleet and our joint venture terminal in Antwerp give us a gateway to Europe via the Rhine that provides tremendous flexibility to serve customers.
We are implementing the same model in China. Stolthaven’s new terminals in Ningbo and Tianjin and our facilities in South Korea and Malaysia, along with SNSA’s Stoltchem coastal fleet and our short-sea Asia-Pacific fleet, provide substantial efficiency advantages.
Stolthaven operates eight terminals with a total of 1.9 million cubic meters of storage capacity with a further 730,000 cubic meters of expansion capacity to come in the next 18 months. The company’s three wholly owned terminals are located in Braithwaite (New Orleans), Louisiana; Houston, Texas and Santos, Brazil. Stolthaven also participates in five joint venture operations: Jeong Il Tank Terminal (Ulsan, South Korea), Oiltanking Stolthaven Antwerp, Stolthaven Ningbo, Stolthaven Tianjin and Stolthaven Westport (Malaysia). The company also operates and maintains more than 330 railroad tank cars.
