Ship Management
STT’s Ship owning division ensures a constant high level of technical management for all ships in the SNSA fleet. Crewing department, fleet management, risk and insurance, vetting, safety and marine services, newbuilding and technical project departments all work in unison to keep our fleet at the highest possible standards expected by our customers, classification societies and flag authorities.
Effective ship management, environmental protection, innovation, fuel efficiency and safety are the prime drivers for Ship Management, and through consistent high quality we have effectively established the Stolt brand at the top of the rankings.
In summary the activities of Shipowning are:
- Meeting the company's high standards of health, safety and environmental protection
- Maintaining the highest level of quality of the hardware
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and customer requirements
- Manning of the ships
- Keeping track of, initiating and participating in industry innovation
- Project management (eg. conversions, retrofit of equipment, ship purchase, newbuilding)
- Purchasing and logistics for the ships
In the Ship owning division we manage most of the ships through their complete life cycle. From conceptual yard specification, through construction, operational life, dry-docking, midlife modernization, life extensions and eventually recycling. All phases have their own specific challenges and requirements.
Besides management for SNSA owned ships, Shipowning also manages ships for third party owners and provides assistance in quality assurance for third party ship managers who manage Stolt operated ships.
Ship owning holds a sharp focus on new developments and research in the field of ship management and ship's hardware. By testing new equipment and encouraging personnel to challenge existing procedures we are on the forefront of shipping. Doing this, we help set the industry standard.
Ship owning aims to consistently meet the safety and environmental regulations and standards set by the industry.
