Plant Specifications


Stolthaven Houston’s wastewater treatment plant operates 24/7 and can receive wastewater from ships, barges, railcars and trucks. Service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
The plant has a capacity of 86,000 barrels (13,673 cbm), with an average permitted flow of 201,600 gallons (761 cbm) per day.
For unloading, the facility operates the following: 

  • 4 truck bays 
  • 1 barge dock 
  • 2 ship docks 
  • 2 railcar spots

Stolthaven Houston is operated and regulated as a Centralized Waste Treatment (CWT) facility, and is permitted to receive oily, organic and biologically treatable wastewater, as specified by regulations governing the operation of CWTs.
