A rewarding career at sea
We know that working at sea is both demanding and highly rewarding. As a seafarer with Stolt Tankers, we are committed to giving you all the support you need to perform at the highest level and fulfil your professional and personal goals.
We believe in investing in the development of our seafarers to help them achieve their potential. We have created a career pathway that focuses on recruiting cadets for lifelong careers at Stolt-Nielsen, supporting them in their progression through the ranks to captains and chief engineers.
We also believe in placing our seafarers at the heart of our operations. Our shore-based teams provide continuous support and lines of communication to crewmembers, and are committed to doing everything they can to assist them at sea.

Our commitment to your welfare
We offer all our seafarers a range of benefits and resources to support their health, wellbeing and career development, including exercise equipment or gyms on all ships, internet access and a range of online and in-person training programmes.
We also encourage our masters and their teams to regularly share their ideas and experiences to ensure we continue to improve the way we run our fleet and build on our inclusive and progressive culture onboard.
Just as importantly, we comply with all relevant international regulations, agreements, and conventions on seafarers' fair treatment and welfare. This includes the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC); International Transport Workers' Federation Union (ITF) collective bargaining agreements for all seafarers onboard; the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW); and the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).
Each year, Stolt Tankers’ Ship of the Year competition celebrates the ‘best of the best’ across its entire fleet in terms of excellence in performance and zero harm for people and the environment.
