New Orleans Employee Disaster Relief Fund

New Orleans Employee Disaster Relief Fund

Stolt-Nielsen has re-activated the Stolt-Nielsen Employee Disaster Relief Fund (the ‘Fund’) to support our New Orleans based staff who were impacted by Hurricane Ida earlier this year.

Thankfully, following the hurricane all of our New Orleans colleagues were accounted for and safe. However, although some weeks have passed, many of our colleagues have experienced financial hardship. The Hurricane was declared a disaster by the US government and is considered one of the costliest storms in Louisiana’s history.

If you would like to make a donation to the Fund, the Company will contribute two dollars for every one dollar donated. Donations are tax deductible for US taxpayers and grant awards will be distributed to fellow employees who have sustained financial hardship on a tax-free basis.

The Fund is administered by The Greater Houston Community Foundation (the ‘Foundation’) to ensure fair and efficient third-party management.

The link to donate is as follows:

Donations made to the Fund will directly support our New Orleans based staff who have sustained financial hardship due to the Hurricane. Contributions may be made by credit card or by eCheck via the donation link. While many charitable funds have been established in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, no other fund will have such a direct impact on our fellow colleagues.

The opportunity to give to the Fund will close on November 30, 2021.

Donations to the Fund will be distributed as grants based on levels of hardship, as determined by the Foundation. This will be done on a confidential basis.

Thank you, in advance, for your generosity in supporting our colleagues and their families. We would also like to thank our team in New Orleans, who went above and beyond to ensure there were no spills, no contamination of our customers’ products and no material damage to our terminal or office building. Our Hurricane Preparedness Team and in particular our Ride-out Team is owed a special thanks for all they did to protect the facility during the Hurricane’s landfall and to quickly restore the facility to normal operations.
