Support for Low Income Families Vado Ligure

Stolt Tank Containers and Marenzana SpA provide support in name of joint venture Vado Tank Cleaning

Stolt Tank Containers (STC) and Marenzana SpA have joined with APM Terminals in a local initiative to support the children of low income families in the community of Vado Ligure, Italy.

“Being socially responsible by providing charitable assistance to the local communities in which we operate is part of what we do,” said Laurent Grandjean, STC’s Director Europe. “When we heard about the local initiative of APM Terminals to support the Vado Municipality Social Services, we decided to join in.”

STC, with the world’s largest fleet of tank containers, and Marenzana, a leading provider of multimodal transportation services in Europe, are joint venture partners in a new tank container depot scheduled to open in Vado Ligure, Italy this fall.

On July 18, 2017, Grandjean and Alberto Marenzana, Chairman of Marenzana SpA, met with Mayor Monica Giuliano of Vado Ligure to pledge their support the Vado Municipality Social Services, in the name of the new joint venture depot Vado Tank Cleaning SRL. The support will enable the Vado Municipality Social Services to buy materials for children of low income families.

“We are pleased to support the community of Vado, and with the forthcoming opening of Vado Tank Cleaning, we intend to be an active employer and contributing member of the community for years to come,” said Grandjean.

With the opening of Vado Tank Cleaning SRL, STC’s global network of owned and joint venture depots will increase to 21 facilities, each providing cleaning, maintenance, repair and storage services, complete with environmentally friendly systems for water management and, in some cases, power generation.

“Our depot network gives us direct control over the handling, cleaning and maintenance of our fleet, and that allows us to deliver the quality, reliability and safety—for people and the environment—that our customers demand,” noted Mike Kramer, President of STC. “Our customers know that that their tanks are inspected, maintained and cleaned at STC’s own facilities, which operate to strict global standards. And that is a very significant value-added for us and our customers.”
