Stolthaven Terminals has received the prestigious EcoVadis gold rating for sustainability performance in recognition of its exceptional environmental, safety, social, ethical, and governance practices in 2024.
The EcoVadis certification assesses a company's adherence to corporate social responsibility principles and the effectiveness of the company’s sustainability management system. The gold rating places Stolthaven Terminals among the top 1% of all companies evaluated by EcoVadis within the warehousing and storage industry.
The gold rating includes all wholly owned terminals globally and demonstrates a ten-point improvement on Stolthaven Terminals' silver status in 2023. Significant progress was made in all EcoVadis sustainability categories: environment, ethics, labour and human rights, and sustainable procurement.
Piran Patel, Global Programme Manager – Sustainability, said: “This gold certification is a milestone that highlights our commitment and progress towards our sustainability ambitions and reflects our continuous improvements in key areas. For example, in labour and human rights and sustainable procurement, EcoVadis rated Stolthaven Terminals in the top 2% of all companies it assessed in the warehousing and storage industry, which is the result of our strong focus on people, ethical and responsible business practices and sustainable supply chains.”
Guy Bessant, President of Stolthaven Terminals, added: “We are extremely pleased with this gold rating from EcoVadis, which demonstrates our commitment to enhancing the sustainability of our operations and those of the wider supply chain and reducing our impact on the environment and the communities in which we operate.
“This achievement is thanks to everyone across Stolthaven Terminals engaging in efforts to reduce our environmental footprint across all our operations and working towards our ambition to make our primary activities carbon neutral by 2040.”
