Congratulations to former President of Stolt Tankers, Mark Martecchini, on receiving the Riviera Chemical & Product Tanker Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades of service to the industry.
The award was presented by Managing Director of Stolt Tankers, Maren Schroeder, at the Chemical & Product Tankers conference held in London last month.
Martecchini retired from Stolt in March, after 38 years serving in a variety of executive, technical, and commercial roles. Most recently he was managing director of Stolt Tankers, responsible for the management of the world’s largest global fleet of parcel tankers. His chemical carrier sector expertise has also benefited the boards of the International Chamber of Shipping, INTERTANKO, the International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation and the Liberian Shipowners’ Council.
Upon receiving the award, Mark focused on the future of the industry, commenting: “Decarbonisation of the maritime industry will depend on developments in ship technology and the supply of expected green fuels, with the next generation of ship designers playing a leading role.
Martecchini will take up a new position as Webb Institute President in July 2022.
