Saving lives at sea

The crew of Stolt Sakura saved the lives of two fisherman in November, when they spotted them adrift in shark-infested waters near Indonesia.

The Sakura was underway from Brisbane, Australia, to Singapore when crew members saw the two men in the water, which is almost impossible to do at sea.

The men’s boat had been damaged and sunk and they would certainly have perished if it hadn’t been for the crew’s alertness, navigation skills and, most of all, care and consideration for life at sea.

Meanwhile, the crew onboard Stolt Betula saved the life of an armed guard by helping to transport him ashore for urgent medical attention.
